If you can make and answer calls but the home phone will not ring for incoming calls, work through this in order.

  1. Make sure the ringer volume on the home phone itself is not turned off.
  2. When a call comes in, your cell phone should ring and show the call. If it does not, the call is not reaching your cell phone, which is a mobile network problem, not Cell2Jack.
  3. If your cell phone does ring but the home phone does not, turn three settings up to their maximum.
21#
Ring strength to maximum.
33#
Hook detection to maximum.
73#
Off hook voltage to maximum.

After you change these, wait a couple of minutes, then test again. Also make sure the robot call blocker is off in settings.

Old phones that need more power

Some old style phones need more power to ring. If your unit is marked Ver 2.0 or lower, download the update file for older units, which fixes weak ringing on that hardware. See firmware update for how to run it.

If the ringer is still weak, a home phone ringer can be worn out or overloaded. A small external ringer amplifier fixes that.
