For setup, connect Cell2Jack straight to your home phone, not through a wall jack. A wall jack can have other live equipment on it that will damage Cell2Jack.

Step 1: check the blue light (power)

  • Blue light solid on: power is good, go to Step 2.
  • Blue light off: no power. Check that the outlet is on, the USB cable is plugged in, and you are using a good 5V adapter.

Step 2: check the red light (Bluetooth)

  • Red light flashing: ready to pair. Go to Step 3.
  • Red light solid on: paired and connected. You should have a dial tone. If there is no dial tone, check the phone cable between the home phone and Cell2Jack.
  • Red light off: paired before but not connected now. Your cell phone may be off or too far, or you want to use a different phone. See pair to a different cell phone.
What the lights mean A steady blue light means the power is on. A flashing red light means Cell2Jack is ready to pair. A steady red light means Cell2Jack is connected to your cell phone. Blue steady: power is onRed flashing: ready to pairRed steady: connected

Step 3: place a test call

  • To call out, dial a 10 digit number, including the area code, and watch your cell phone screen show the same call.
  • To test incoming, have a friend call your cell phone. The home phone should ring.
  • Do not dial your own cell phone number from the home phone. That is calling yourself.

Still stuck

Cell2Jack support can read a trace file from a PC utility to see what is happening. Download the diagnostic tool, for Ver 4.0 and newer hardware, click to download. It writes a trace file support can read.
